Contour control for seat back - incorporates flexible support plate and tensioning ties

The contour control for the seat back has a curved support plate (1) inside the seat cushion with the shape of the plate adjusted to alter the contour of the seat. The upper end of the plate is fitted with a first set of control wires (5) linked to a first spindle on the seat hinge, while a second, shorter set of control wires (1 2) is linked to the lower part of the plate. The control knob couples with either set of control wires by axial movement. The user can adjust the shape of the seat back for optimum comfort with a simple single handed control.
