The ring for use for example with cryogenic fluids, has two radially inwardly-projecting sealing lips (19a, 19b) and a radially outwardly projecting retaining flange (20). The sealing lips are biassed by spring pressure exerted by elastic clamping rings (22a, 22b) disposed radially outside each of the lips and by fluid pressure. The sealing ring comprises two sections (5a, 5b) of U- shaped cross section which face in opposite axial directions with the U- shaped bottom portions (5a', 5b') thereof facing in opposite directions, and which are radially displaced in relation to one another. <IMAGE> |
