The water closet installation comprises a toilet pan (1) with a frame (3) and an electrical working contact (4) beneath the rim, the electrical contact being connected through a line (5 with a programme control unit (6) operated by a pressure switch (29). The programme control unit operates a spray control system (7, 8, 9, 10). On the water outlet side is a residue storage vessel (15), with hydraulic valves (12, 18) on either side and a water level sensor (30). Movement of outlet sewage is actuated by a pressurised air line (27) connected in response to signals from the programme control unit.
