The heat exchanger serves as a radiator and has rows of tubes (10) which carry engine coolant. The tubes carry external plate fins to carry heat away to air flowing through the radiator. The internal diameter of the tubes is not more than 6.7mm. Helically twisted metal strips may be housed within the tubes to distribute the coolant flow in the tubes. The spring of the tubes may be from 2 to 3 times their external diameter.
