PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of uncomfortable vibration in a multi-cylinder engine which has a shutter valve for blocking part of suction passages at the time of idling or speed reduction, by feeding air downstream of the valve at the time of blocking. CONSTITUTION:A suction passage 1 of a cylinder 3 is blocked by a shutter valve 7 under the condition of engine revolution below 1100rpm, the mixture is fed in another cylinder 4 alone. The negative pressure of suction downstream a throttle valve 6 of another suction passage 2 is introduced in a negative pressure chamber of a control valve 15 by means of a solenoid valve 30 which is kept off to open an air feed passage 16. Air is then fed from an air pump 13 toward downstream the shutter valve 7 which is fully closed through passages 14, 16 and air feed port 9. This increases the compressive pressure of the cylinder 3 and reduces the large torque fluctuation between the cylinder 4 ignited and the cylinder 3 misfired. |
