Collapsible sunblind or flexible thermal insulation structure comprises a column or a vertical orthogonal array of honeycomb elements which can be collapsed into flat structures. The elements may be made of foils folded to form a pair of juxtaposed (horizontally or vertically) hexagonal tubes, joined at abutting horizontal interfaces. The sunblind or structure, which may be a partition wall, may be mfd. from transparent or translucent material such as paper, or plastics foils. Foils may be coated with aluminium using vacuum deposition. In a modification, the light ray receiving face of the structure may be coated with a dark energy absorbing colour to act as a solar panel.
