The control system is intended for a motor vehicle Diesel engine, in which each cylinder has a fuel pump injector unit operated from a cam shaft via a cam and rocker. The position of the pump control rod is adjusted by centrifugal weights via a rod extending through the hollow camshaft and a double-ended pivoted lever. The weight of the control rod and all the moving parts connected with it causes a turning moment relative to the pivot point. This approximately equals the moment around that point of the rod and its moving parts.
