The closer block, with bearing and closing lug for a door, is accommodated in a fixed housing unit, covered by a plate, in the door-closing mechanism. The covering plate (2) is attached to the housing(4) and/or closer block(6) so as to be adjustable relative to either of these, to a limited extent. Interfacing tilting claws (14, 16) adjacent to the plate's longitudinal edges(10, 12) may be used for attachment, with tightening provided by screws (20) accessible from the top of the plate. This permits aligned cover plate fixture irrespective of the position of housing or closer block.
