PURPOSE:To obtain the title product of high reliability, capable of disposing chips, by detachable mounting chips coolecting box provided with opening at one side thereof on the upper part of printing mechanism and collect chips generated by the consumption of ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:Chip collecting box 8 is detachably mounted at the upper part of the printing unit of the line printer namely, type carrier body 1 and ink ribbon 5 oppose against the print sheet 4. The box 8 is of oblong shape, hollow inside, with opening 9 at its side, its upper side plate 11 is made winder than its bottom side plate 10, its upper side plate 11 is formed in the manner that is covers the type carrier body 1 and the ink ribbon 5, and is mounted on the support member 6 with its opening 9 opposed against the print sheet 4. The chips 7, 7 being discharged toward the upper direction of the printing mechanism hit against the upper side plate 11 and by their bouncing movement, are collected within the collecting box 8. |
