A liquid flow control valve includes a body 10, a valve chamber in the body, a valve member 52 in the body dividing the chamber into first and second compartments, a liquid inlet 16 to and an outlet 20 from the first compartment with the valve member being movable between a first position in which it closes the liquid inlet from the outlet in the first compartment and a second position in which liquid under pressure may flow from the inlet and out of the outlet, a liquid outlet 30 from the second compartment, a passage 28 for liquid between the inlet to the first compartment and the second compartment, and an actuator 14 which is movable between a first position in which it closes the liquid outlet from the second compartment so that liquid pressure in the second compartment will hold the valve member in its first position and a second position in which the outlet is opened and liquid pressure in the first compartment will move the valve member to its second position.
