(A) Compds. of formula (I) R' = opt. unsat., mono or polyalicyclic residue opt. substd. by halogen, alkyl, Ph, or condensed benzene rings, or an alkyl gp substd by such a residue. R2 & R3 = H or lower alkyl. R4 = H or CO2 alkyl R5 = OH, O alkyl, OCH2Ph, -O or NH2. R6 = Alkyl, O alkyl, Salkyl, halogen, or H. p = 0 or 1 & n = 0 - 3. (B) Compds. (III) and (IV) I. Analgesics, antipyretics and anti-inflammatories, with some hypocholesterolemic activity. LD50's > 1500 mg./Kg. III & IV-(a) Intermediates for I;(b) Have psychic, stimulating, anti-tumour, bactericidal & fungicidal activity.
