The packet comprises a water-permeable pouch contg. coffee flakes obtd. by roll milling roasted coffee. Pref. the pouch is of (non)woven rayon, polypropylene, polyacrylic, polyester, nylon, cotton, hemp, or mixts. thereof, formed by heat sealing using a thermoplastics binder. Flakes are of thickness 0.003-0.025 ins. and density 0.43-0.52 g./cc.
