A vertical fire box, with one or more radical burners and a central ash extraction chute, is fitted eccentric to the axis of a vertical boiler above it which has a larger diameter and is sub divided into lower radiation and an upper contact section. The boiler has a sloping floor extending into an air sifter and fine ash chute opposite the fire box. The offset ensures minimum prodn. of dust even when burning fine coal. |
