<p>The present invention relates to an improved process for the manufacture stages of tanned artificial hides, having characteristics very similar to those of natural tanned hides. This process comprises the phases of preparing a colloidal solution of a protein substance originating from collagen by simply dissolving limed, untanned scraps of skin from a tannery, abattoir wastes or mixtures thereof in hot water, of thoroughly impregnating a synthetic substrate having good porosity with this solution of collagen substance, and of condensing and crosslinking this collagen substance on the synthetic fibres of the substrate, by simple action of crosslinking agents and then tanning the substrate thus impregnated.</p> |
