<p>PURPOSE:To report or stop the measurement when the size of an arm is outside the allowable range by judging whether the time required to wind a cuff which is counted by a counting means is within the preset range or not because this time is prolonged when the arm circumference is small. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor (pressure detecting means) 23, a pressurizing pump (pressurizing means) 26, a quick discharge valve (decompressing means) 27, and a slow discharge valve (decompressing means) 28 are connected to a cuff 11. The output signal of the pressure sensor 23 is amplified by an amplifier 24 then converted into the digital signal by an A/D converter 25 and fed to a CPU 29. The CPU 29 has the function to detect the noninsertion or inadequate insertion of an arm, the function to control the winding of the cuff 11, and the function to determine the blood pressure value. When the arm is too slender or too big, the measurement is stopped, a reporting means such as a buzzer and a warning lamp can be operated in place of it or in conjunction with it.</p> |
