<p>The display element has a spherical housing (1) and an associated circuit (4, 5) for generating a magnetic field. A display unit (10) also of spherical shape has a black or dark part and a clear part. Fixings (8, 13) enable the unit (10) to pivot inside the housing (1). The unit (10) can be held in two positions 180 deg. apart by fittings (9, 14). These fittings (9, 14) enable the black part or the clear part of the unit (10) to be exposed. A permanent magnet (16) is mounted inside the display unit (10) so as to actuate the units (10) angular displacement when the magnetic field created by the circuit (4, 5) is severed. The magnet (16) is arranged in the unit (10) so as to form two poles orientated along an axis orthogonal to the pivot axis of the display unit. The poles are shifted laterally with respect to this pivot axis.</p> |
