A radio controlled toy comprises a large inflatable PVC body rigidly mounted on a base (21). The base (21) contains a radio receiver (23) and drive mechanism of known type coupled to a pair of rear wheels (25a). A pair of front wheels (25b) are mounted on movable bearings on the base (21) such that when the base is driven forward by the rear wheels (25a) the front wheels are guided in the same direction. Change of direction is effected by momentarily reversing drive to the rear wheels. The base (21) has a cylindrical connection (22) with a radially inner flange which engages in a groove in a lower cylindrical extension (11) of the body when the latter is inflated to secure the body to the base. If the body is of human form two such extension are provided, each with a base one of which has freely rotatable wheels. Various ways of securing the body to the base may be used.
