The pump works on the principle of an eccentric worm pump which is divided into a number of individual stages each consisting of a stator disc and a rotor disc (17) of equal width with a wear ring (161) interposed between the two. Adjacent stator disc bores and rotor wear rings are rotationally offset relative to one another. Adjusters are provided which permit the rings (161) to adapt themselves to varying operation conditions by varying their circumferential dimensions. The rings may have at least one seal ring (32) which opens up in the manner of a piston ring and lies under tension against the wall of the stator disc bore.
