<p>Title cpd. is prod. by oxidising a mixt. of o- and p-nitrotoluene in (m)ethanolic NaOH or KOH soln. The reactor avoids the need to stir large quantities of liqs. There is no need to use pure p-nitrotoluene as a starting material. No purifn. stage needed. Solvent recovery unnecessary.</p> |
