<p>In railway track construction, a track section comprising rails and sleepers is loaded at the point of assembly onto the section chassis using a hoist different from the section hoists. The chassis travels onto the last track section built in. Section hoists are set on the section, and moved with it onto an auxiliary track. They then lift the section, and lower it, after withdrawal of the chassis and advancement of the auxiliary track. They remain above the lowered track section until they are conveyed to the extent of a section length forward with the next section.</p> |
