The metallic profiled strip (8) is for edge-mounting on to boards (4, 5, 6, 7) forming walls (1, 2, 3) in a load-bearing shelf assembly. The strip has a grooved section with a longitudinal inwardly projecting lip (10) capable of engaging a groove (11) running parallel to the edge in a board. The lip is arranged adjacent to the free end of a flange (9) of the strip whilst, on the outside, the strip has longitudinally extending portions (13-16) which may engage corresponding portions in a similar strip adjacent to it. The portions (13-16) may be at the lower end of the strips cross-section.
