<p>The flexible coupling for vehicle exhaust pipes, partic. twinned, comprises two identical connecting flanges (1, 2) linked by flexible metallic hoses, with restraining-bolt holes (5, 6) on the longitudinal centreline. Cupped sleeves (13, 14) projecting inwards from the holes in one flange form abutments separating pairs of springs (7, 8; 9, 10) bearing respectively against the other flange and nuts (11, 12) on the bolt noses. Bolts are a clearance-fit in all holes and there are spherical washers (15, 16) under the boltheads. The coupling is pre-assembled with hoses at half stretch, and the nuts locked in place.</p> |
