Light liquid separator with automatic inlet valve - operated by float directly above valve with vertical shaft

The parent patent describes a separator for light liquids consisting of a sepn. chamber with top access containing inlet and outlet pipes and an automatic valve which is operated by the quantity of liquid present. In this patent of addn., the inlet piep leads down into a submerged part of the chamber and has a downward facing discharge opening; above this a float at the surface of the liquid is connected by a vertical shaft passing through the top of the lower part of the inlet pipe and attached to the flap valve for closing this opening. The passage of the shaft through the top part of the pipe is pref. sealed by a flexible bellows or the like. This arrangement enables a conventional float with a relatively short shaft to be used, since the float is located directly above the valve closure flap.
