<p>A polyethylene composition densely filled with inorganic material, which has an excellent fire-retardant property and sufficient practical characteristics such as tensile strength, and which is suited as a material for fields in which high fire retardant properties are required, such as a coating material for fire retardant wire cables and a material for fire retardant foams. This composition is prepared by compounding a polyethylene series resin composition mainly composed of a resin component comprising 10 - 75 parts by weight of polyethylene having a density of 0.910-0.945 (g/cm3) and a melt index of 0.01-2.0 (g/10 min) and 90-25 parts by weight of an ethylenic copolymer, with a hydrated metal oxide powder in an amount of 80-250 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin component. </p> |
