Thermally stable fiber-forming polyesters having superior inherent oil-stain release properties are obtained by heatsetting at temperatures of from about 300 DEG F. to about 350 DEG F., filaments or fabrics produced from dicarboxylic acids, or reactive derivatives thereof, glycols and small amounts of mixtures of compounds having a typical general formula: R-O[G-O]x-H, where R is an alkyl group containing an average of at least 8 carbon atoms; G is a hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of ethylene, propylene and isomers thereof, and mixtures of the above; and x has an average value of at least equal to or greater than 9, and no greater than about 20.
