The electrostatic copying machine contains a DC-DC converter for the corona station. It switches a number of magnetic circuits in parallel to the input, which discharge into the charge accumulator when sufficient energy has been accumulated. This will shorten the time to accumulate the necessary charge. The is a switch (S) in series with each magnetic circuit. The switch is connected to a control circuit (43) which opens and closes the switches sequentially. The magnetic circuits each consist of a pair of coils and a diode. The charging accumulator is in the form of a capacitor (C).
