PURPOSE:To carry out automatic machining of a work according to a certain cutting margin without using a model, by using a controller composed of a detecting circuit, comparator and operating circuit for regulating the depth of cutting. CONSTITUTION:A margin to cut off and the torque conditions of its cutting load are decided for a work A. As the surface cutting of the slab begins, a load detecting device 1 checks the torque of cutting load imposed on the main spindle 5 as a tortion of the spindle 5. The tortion is then compared and discriminated by a comparator 2 to control the depth of cutting by a main spidle feed mechansim 4 so that the torque is kept within a range of load level Tw. Thtat is, when the comparator 2 generates a signal indicating that the torque thus detected exceeds the upper limit Tnax of torque constrained conditions, a signal for keepig it within the load level Tw is generated from a feed control circuit 7 to control the feed of the main spindle 5. |
