<p>1428509 Welding by fusion MANSFELD KOMBINAT WILHELM PIECK VEB 8 Oct 1973 [9 Oct 1972] 46804/73 Heading B3R A consumable electrode wire feeding device comprises wire-biting rollers 4, 5 respectively freely rotatably mounted on journals b, d of a shaft 15 arranged to be driven by a motor 1, via a coupling 2, said journals having axes 7, 8 which are parallel and oppositely eccentric with respect to the axis 6 of the shaft 15 and are oppositely inclined with respect to said axis 6 when viewed, normal to the rotational axis 6 of the shaft 15, respectively, in mutually perpendicular directions, this arrangement being such as to effect, on rotation of the shaft 15, intermittent biting engagements between operative roller rim portions and a wire 9, alternately and in the same helical sense, to feed said wire through a guide tube 10<SP>1</SP>. The rollers co-operate with an anvil roller 11 acted on by a spring device 12. The wire feed rate may be varied by varying the speed of the shaft 15 and is dependent on the angle of journal inclination. The feeding device may be incorporated in a torch handle.</p> |
