摘要 <p>The oxidation of p-xylene and p-methyl toluate in a ratio of 1:1-1:3 to p-toluic acid terephthalic acid and terephthalic acid mono- and di-methyl ester, is effected with air at 120-165 degrees C and =10 atmos. press. using catalyst comp sing organic salts of Co, Mn and ni, there being present in the reaction mixture 0.001-0.1, esp. 0.005-0.01% Co, 0.0001-0.05 esp. 0.0001-0.001% Mn and 0.00002-0.01, esp. 0.00002-0.0001% Ni. Increased yields of final products are obtained, i.e. from 80% for a catalyst contg. only organic Co salts and from 83% for a two-component catalyst contg. Co and Mn salts, to >85% for the present three-component catalyst. The reaction temp. is also about 5 degrees C lower than that required using known catalysts, thus facilitating increased yields of dimethyl terephthalate.</p>
