<p>An injection moulding machine, esp. for plastics, comprising two relatively movable mould plates, with longitudinally adjustable locking bars secured to one plate and passing through the other plate where they are locked by mechanisms, has these locking mechanisms provided with wedge locking surfaces which can be locked in a single operation with a closure pressure which simultaneously provides the closure and holding force for the mould. Specif., a ram may be provided behind the movable mould closure plate to effect the opening/closing movement. Solid (not hollow) closure bars may be used, the cylinder unit or ram need possess only 5% of the mould closure force and the unit is compact and light.</p> |
