<p>The rod consists of two segments (1) (2) lining up longitudinally and separated electrically by insulation (16) of hardenable synthetic resin. The joint is held firmly together by bolts (10) around which are insulating sleeves (14). The main joint is of tenon type and there is a shoulder (7) against which the other rod segments presses, via the insulation. The insulating sleeves (14) have flanges (15) of the same thickness as the rest of the insulation. A metal cover (17) is placed under the nuts (11) to distribute the clamping force evenly. Each segment thickness is constant over its whole length.</p> |
