The cock for flushing mechanism controlled by a float comprises a body (2) fixed on a vertical wall (1) of the flushing mechanism. Inside this body, a controlled membrane (24) for closing the communication between two coaxial chambers (10) and (14) respectively for the inlet and outlet of the water. The membrane (24) supports, in its central part, a boss (30) in the form of a spherical cap whose base has a diameter slightly less than that of the outlet chamber (14) and which projects in the direction of this chamber, so that it progressively reduces the outflow passage of the fluid in the direction of this chamber when the membrane is displaced towards its closed position. <IMAGE>
