<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a micro wave oscillator from being subjected to great loading due to the repetation of on/off operations as well as to contrive to improve the life of the oscillator by letting the irradiation of micro waves to materials to be heated be temporarily suspended when micro wave discharge is induced in the materials to be heated. CONSTITUTION:In case of normal heating, micro waves oscillated by a micro wave oscillator 1 pass through a change-over shutter 3 in an open condition with loss hardly increased by way of an isolator 2 so as to be matched by an impedance matching unit 4 so that they are irradiated onto materials to be heated 5. When micro wave discharge is induced in the materials to be heated 5, the discharge is detected by a discharge detecting device 6 so as to let the change-over shutter 3 be changed over to a closed condition by the signal from the detecting device for letting micro waves from the micro wave oscillator 1 be reflected by the change-over shutter 3 so that the materials to be heated 5 will be free from the irradiation of micro waves so as to let the discharge disappear. This constitution thereby prevents the micro wave oscillator form being subjected to great loading when on/off operations are repeated, thereby making it possible to prevent the life of the oscillator from being shortened.</p> |
