1. A photosensitive photographic material containing at least one iodide-containing silver halide emulsion layer of narrow grain size distribution, which has been prepared from a starting silver halide emulsion using a water-soluble iodide obtaining at least partial conversion, characterised in that said photographic material contains a silver halide emulsion layer of which the converted starting silver halide emulsion has been digested, optionally with the addition of further silver halide emulsion which is more soluble than the converted starting silver halide emulsion, in the presence of a silver halide emulsion solvent, until the more soluble emulsion grains have grown on to the converted grains of the starting silver halide emulsion. |
