A marking ink comprises, pigment, resin, solvent and an additive (I). (I) comprises (a) aliphatic dibasic acid ester, e.g. dioctyl adipate, dioctyl azelate, or dibutyl sebacate at 1-15 wt.%, and (b) sulphuric acid ester of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether and/or phosphoric acid ester of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. Writing board is e.g. of ceramic, plastics, or metal and marks are easily erased by lightly wiping with a dry cloth or soft paper.
