Shaper for interpolator signals in NC systems - uses shaping loop to provide ramped flanks on interpolator pulses

The interpolation pulses generated within a numerically controlled machine tool system are shaped to prevent positioning overshoot occuring. A compensating loop operates on both the interpolator command and the error between command and position feedback, to generate a function for the amplification factor, k, k = ko - k1 (Vc = V2) where Vc and V2 are the voltages at the signal pickup points. The compensator output operates on the integrated interpolated pulse in a multiplier to produce a square wave signal with ramped flanks to avoid overshoot occuring.
