The drive has a piston in a cylinder, with the force of an energy store continuously applied to its one side. Pressure can be applied to its other side through a pipe and the corresponding cylinder space, or it can be removed from it. The cylinder space can be connected to a low pressure space through a valve whose piston-like body is controlled by the pressure medium in the pipe. The valve (11) has a by-pass (14) connecting the pipe (10) with the cylinder space (9). The flow resistance through the by-pass (14) is greater than the flow resistance to the valve body surface facing the pipe (10).
