PURPOSE:To obtain a cutting device devised to attain optimum cutting length in the low cost and high reliability by detecting the pressure from a pinch roll installed in front of a Klop cutting device and detecting a plate width from this pressure. CONSTITUTION:When rolling material reaches to a pinch roll 2, a pulse in proportion with the length of the pinch roll 2 from the material end is sent from a pulse generator 5 to a convertor 8, converted into a signal to the length and inputs to a plate width computer 10. At the same time, the temperature and pressure at the position x from the material end are measured by a pylometer 7 and a pressure detector 6 to output to the computer 10, and with these, plate width is continuously measured. These are compared with rolling specification width of the material that is input through a line 13, by the optimum cutting length decision device 11, cutting length is decided and this is set to the cutting length setting device 9. Then, a Klop cutting machine 1 is operated by this setting. |
