The firearm, with steep elevation barrel, has a magazine for firing fin stabilised projectiles. The projectile axes are parallel to the barrel axis and the magazine is indexed for loading. This launcher is used on armoured fighting vehicles because of its compact design and rapid fire and rapid replacement of different magazine types. The launcher (1) has elevation and azimuth adjusting mechanisms (16, 17). The launcher barrel (2) can slide longitudinally and it can be locked. The magazine rotates about an axis (10). The barrel is locked by a bayonet lock to the ammunition chamber (7) and the magazine and barrel are sealed by gas tight seals. The magazine chambers are readily reloaded from the top.
