<p>The mechanism is for tearing open bags which contain household waste materials, and comprises a feed shaft (1) and a tearing part (2), the latter comprising a case containing two horizontal and parallel shafts. The shafts (3) may be rotated in opposite directions, and to them are attached striker chains of equal length. At the outer ends of the chains are weights, and the central clearance between the two shafts is at least the same as the diameter of the striking circle. The chains are fitted with a striking circle diameter of 600 to 1,000 m in groups of 8 to 16 pieces spaced between 150 and 250 mm apart.</p> |
