PURPOSE:A herbicidal composition that is prepared by mixing 2-chloro-2',6'- diethyl-N-(propoxyethyl)acetanilide with a specific pyrazole derivative, thus developing remarkable synergism to expand the herbicidal spectra even in reduced amount and increase the safety. CONSTITUTION:2-Chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(propoxyethyl)acetanilide (abbreviated as A hereinafter) is mixed with a pyrazole derivative of the formula [X is H, 4-toluenesulfonyl,-(CH2)n-Y (Y is lower alkoxy, phenyl; n is 1, 2)], in which novel compounds are included, to give said herbicidal composition. The mixing ratio is 1 part by wt of compound A to 0.1-10 parts of compound of the formula and, when necessary, a carrier as talc, kerosine and casein, gelatin is added. Said composition keeps the safety for water rice plant and enlarges the period suitable for spraying and sustains the effect for a long time. |
