PURPOSE:To manufacture the title disc of high integrity by kneading together between a granular glass (a main raw material), a binder such as sodium silicate or water glass, and a specific amount of short glass fibers, followed by carrying out molding. CONSTITUTION:The objective glass disc 1 can be manufactured by molding and drying a stock prepared by kneading together between (1) a granular glass 2 (a main raw material), (2) 0.1-3.0wt%, based on the component (1), of a fibrous glass with a length of 10-50mm, and (3) a binder such as sodium silicate or water glass. The disc obtained is easy to handle, being free from breakage even in the initial stage of extrusion, thus easily ensuring good lubricity leading to extruded products with beautiful surface. |
