The blade 8 may be fixed at its lower end in a frame 9 which is pivotable about fulcrum F. The middle of the blade is supported at V by a V-shaped section 13 extending from the frame. Rotation of the frame in an anti-clockwise direction increases the pressure exerted by the blade on the coated web at P. Coating 4a is applied to the web by transfer from vat 6 using roller 4. |
