A polycryst. Mn-Al-C alloy having excellent magnetism,, stability, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance was worked at 830-900≦̸C to a desired shape. Thus, the mixt. of 71.0-73.0 wt. % Mn, (1/10Mn-6.6)-(1/3Mn-22.2) wt.% C, and the rest of said components Al were heated at said temp., quenched at more 10≦̸/min to said temp., tempered at 480-750≦̸C to precipitate Mn3AlC or FCC phase, and hot-plasticized at 550-780≦̸C.
