PURPOSE:To make possible high speed developing by forming a liquid developing roller by a conductive and liquid-permeable porous elastic material, liquid-permeable insulation-type flexible member of a specified thickness, etc. with a conductive rigid body as a central body. CONSTITUTION:A developing roller 14 is formed by a central body 2 being a conductive rigid body such as metal, etc., a liquid-permeable and conductive porous elastic body 3 such as polyenthylene or other mixed with conductive powder such as carbon or other and a liquid-permeable, insulation-type flexible tubular screen 4 or the like covering the outside peripheral surface of the elastic body 3 at thicknesses 20 to 400mu. Hence, the developing and cleaning by the developing solution 12 are well and rapidly accomplished by the compression deformation and recovery of the contact part of the photosensitive drum 6 and roller 14 and since the drum 6 and roller 14 make direct contact by way of the insulation tubular screen 4 of the specified thickness, the production of fog, etc. of images is prevented. As a result, the latent images including the images of medium contrast are developed at a high speed. |
