PURPOSE:To make it possible to input a hand witten pattern with high resolution by detecting accurately contact center position of a stylus on a tablet using a pressure sense conductive plate. CONSTITUTION:For example, tablet 30 has 32 conductor arrays X0 to X31, and Y0 to Y31 of X and Y electrodes each. With stylus 31 made in contact with the tablet, five coordinate point in the region (slanting lines) become conductive and the coordinate point in the center can be found. Namely, a scanning position in a rise of a X-side detection signal appearing continuously corresponding to the contact region (slanting line) of stylus 31 and that in its fall are stored in a scan on Y electrodes, and the sum of the both is divided by two to obtain Y coordinate Yout at the contact center position.
