1298316 Zearalanol COMMERCIAL SOLVENTS CORP 19 April 1971 [2 April 1970] 23143/71 Heading C2C Zearalanol is prepared by reducing zearalenone with hydrogen in the presence of a platinum catalyst and a C 1-6 alkanol solvent containing 0À001 to 5 volume per cent of a strong acid. The resulting zearalanol is a mixture of a major amount of the high melting point diastereoisomer and a minor amount of the low melting point diastereoisomer, and can be separated into its components by known methods. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,107,738. |
