1319642 Graft tissue reinforcements C H SPARKES 8 May 1970 [9 May 1969] 1852/73 Divided out of 1319641 Heading A5R [Also in Division F2] A porous graft reinforcement for use in the tissue-die assembly disclosed in Specification 1,319,641, so that in use of the assembly the reinforcement is encapsulated by and acts as a support for living tissue, comprises a stretched cloth reinforcing member impregnated with silicone rubber vulcanised in situ, the cloth being in the form of a tube and the vulcanised rubber locking together junctures of the threads in the cloth and holding the cloth in a stretched condition. A seamless woven or knitted tubular cloth may be dipped several times into a suspension of unvulcanised silicone rubber in xylene, the tube being hung up to dry between dipping. The impregnated tube is then held in a stretched condition on a glass rod and the rubber vulcanised. |
