<p>The actuator is used for power controlled brake valves, esp. in foot brakes of motor vehicles. The valve monitors the pressurised fluid flow from storage tank to a brake cylinder. The spring system consists of series connected elastomer and helical springs. The elastomer spring stiffness is higher than that of the helical spring components. The elastomer and helical springs are preloaded. The spring assembly is placed within a piston acting on the valve. The helical springs ensure linear characteristics in the lower pressure range whilst the steepe characteristic is ensured by elastomer springs.</p> |
