The carcass inner is provided with a coating of a butyl rubber in the form of a cement and bonded to the tyre inner either before or after vulcanisation as per the parent patent the butyl rubber being a (halogenated) butyl rubber whose mean mol. wt. (measured from its viscosity) is 28,000-285,000 and the cement comprises this, fillers and vulcanisation aids with a solids content of 20-80 wt. %.
